Sophie Gordon
Sophie, the founder of Northcote Art, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classroom. She studied at Winchester School of Art and then went on to receive a BA Hons in Fine Art from Kingston University, where she honed her artistic skills and developed a deep understanding of various techniques and concepts.
Living locally with her four daughters and beloved Labrador, Buddy, Sophie is deeply connected to her community and brings a warm and nurturing presence to her teaching. Her love for art is evident in her interactions with her students, whom she guides and inspires with her infectious enthusiasm and genuine care.
Izzy Tetchner
Izzy is a highly skilled and accomplished art teacher with a passion for nurturing creativity in her students. With a BA Hons in Graphic Design, she brings a wealth of artistic knowledge and expertise to her classroom. As a practicing artist who sells her own work, Izzy understands the intricacies of the creative process and the importance of artistic expression. She inspires her students by sharing her firsthand experiences and recognises the importance of individuality and self-expression, she encourages her students to embrace their unique artistic voices. By promoting authenticity and self-acceptance, she instills a sense of confidence and empowers her students to embrace their true selves.
Darcey Finch
Darcey is a talented practicing artist. She has a background in the film industry and is a qualified zoologist. She is passionate, creative and inspires our students with her diverse range of experiences and expertise. With her background in the film industry, Darcey introduces our students to the world of visual storytelling. She teaches them how to convey emotions, narratives, and concepts through their artwork, encouraging them to think about the message they want to communicate. Darcey is a passionate, creative, and a multi-talented art tutor who goes beyond traditional boundaries to inspire her students.
Katie Parsons
Katie is a local artist and mum of two girls who has recently joined the Northcote Art School team. Katie studied at Wimbledon School Of Art and Central Saint Martins and has a BA in Graphic Design and Illustration. Following years working in journalism and advertising, Katie turned her attention to full-time art once both her children had started school. She loves bringing ideas from her own studio practice into the Northcote Art lessons and helping the students experiment and learn new techniques. She has a passion for creativity and discovering the beauty in the every day. Katie also works as a volunteer at Artbox London - a charity helping people with learning disabilities and autism find their voice through art. Learn more at www.artboxlondon.org.
